I contacted Wika and the support person said he would bring up in the next meeting but it still the same. The setting is for formatting messages in non-english languages. At this point if anyone else cares they too can contact Wika hereRead more >

Um, hi. So, for a while now, I've been feeling a bit... off. I am biologically female, but I often feel like I'm in the wrong body, like I'm meant to be a male, not a female, and it flipping sucks because I end up feeling like pure crap. Sometimes, I just have an episode where I'm all "JESUS CHRIST ON A MOTORBOAT I LOOK LIKE A GIRL! WHY? WHYYYY? MUST I LOOK THIS WAY? MUST I HAVE A CHEST? MUST I LOOK LIKE A FLIPPING GIRL?" and then I find everything wrong with myself and the chest dysphoria comes rolling in. GREAT. (Though it doesn't happen that often) If I find myself having make-up on, I question why (like now), and I feel angry and/or sad about it. Same with nail polish, even clear. I want to perfect my nail polish, and then I want to rip …Read more >

Hey Gender Wiki Community! My name is Sarah Longworth and I'm an undergraduate student at the Univeristy of Leeds. I'm carrying out some research for my dissertation and it would be really great to get a wide range of opinions if you could kindly fill in my survey or even pass it round? The study is about attitudes towards gender, and the future of gender neutral fashion, something I'm really passionate about. If you could help that would be amazing, thankyou! I changed all the admin's name colors to green to make it easier to identify them. I chose green because it stands out and is easy to see on the white background. If we ever get any rollbacks or chatmods I'll probably change their names to a lighter shade of green.Read more >
A few years ago I read a very interesting bookA Door into Ocean . If you look it up the wiki says that it's a feminist book. But why? Because people can't see through the biological sex of and individual. To get straight to the point basically there was a planet inhabited by only females and they lived a very peaceful life. One might think that "ye women simply superior to men" but the book does not state that. The reason behind it was simple. They kept the population in check. The lived in relatively small groups they knew each other and every night they gathered around to learn something from the other groups. After meeting males and females from other planets they did not treated males any differently than those females.

So, I am fairly new to the whole chat/forum thing, but here goes... I am 20 years old, I have identified thus far as cis female and had no problems but have always enjoyed dressing in whatever I want, wether that be dresses and bows or "boys" shirts (from the time I was very young), "guy" clothes, or whatever. Since I have been introduced to the idea of gender being a spectrum and not black-and-white (four/five years or so), I have still been comfortable with identifying as cis female (i never really considered the possibility of myself being anything different) but dressing not necessarily in society's idea of "female" clothes. Recently, I have been having interesting feelings about my breasts. I wore a shirt and thought I would look/fee…Read more >
While I haven't really been around long enough to warrant admin access (and probably won't stick around for much longer), there's a couple of changes I'd like to suggest that require admin privileges.
1. Move the Binary Genders article to Gender Binary, which is a better description of what the page discusses.
2. Update the links on the front page of the wiki to reflect recent changes, particularly the contents of the Key Concepts category which is designed to help those unfamiliar with gender theory.
I hope my changes lately have helped improve the wiki, and it continues to grow in future.Read more >
This is a reminder not to create new articles unless they follow policy and relate to gender identity. Articles that 'create' a new gender should always be labelled under the Candidates for debate category. If the majority of users agree that is a valid gender, the category will be removed.
If you have personal thoughts, please post them in the comments, message an admin, or create a blog explaining your thoughts.
Thank you.Read more >
Hello! As of Septemeber 2014, I've gotten serious about thinking about my gender identity, and at first I thought I was genderfluid, then trans, but the more I learn about other gender identites, the more I am unsure which I am. I am afab, who identitifies as male, yet sometimes I feel like no gender at all(agender). one day I go from wearing my binder and more masculine looking clothing, but the next I can wear something that is seen as more feminine, yet I don't feel female when I do, I feel nothing.
Any advice or help?
Anyone feel the same or am I alone?Read more >
Honestly, I am getting pretty pissed here. Yes, having fun while editing is important, but so are the rules. Both Gender Wiki and Wikia policy says not to vandalize a wiki. What exactly is vandalism...?
"Vandalism is any addition, removal, or change of content, in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikia."
By blanking pages, spamming, or creating nonsense pages, one is compromising the integrity of this wiki. I really don't want to have to block people, but if that is what it takes to keep this wiki is tip-top shape, then I will do it.
I am willing to make anyone an admin... As long as all edits on all other wikis have been in good faith and you are a trusted member of those wikis. We really need to fight back the trolls... T…Read more >
